Tapered work is mounted between the center, the Sine Block base elevated by gage blocks is one-half the included angle, and the work is then indicated at both ends to determine the accuracy of taper. 20" Sine Block with pair of identical center heads positionalble anywhere along t-slot running the length of block. Heads are locked in place or removed entirely to free the Sine Block for general purpose angle checking. Employed in the horizontal plane, a Taper Testing Fixture becomes an extremely accurate Bench Center. The hardened and ground tool steel centers are lapped for precision fit, and are locked by turning a knurled knob on each center head assembly.
