This is a very nice South Bend type Logan 14" x 40" Engine Lathe. The lathe is loaded with many extras such as an Aloris type Quick Change Toolholder, 2 chuck, 2 face plates, and a 5C collet closer. The lathe is in very nice operating condition. The ways on the lathe are in excellent condition, especially around the headstock. The compound rest has no back lash and will do precision work! The lathe is being offered single phase or three phase. The unit comes with a static phase convertor and will hook up to your standard 220 volt house current. If this lathe is going to be for industrial use, I will be glad to switch the unit to 220 or 440 volts 3 phase. Please read the specifications and email for questions! Crossfeed .20 times longitudinal feed. Half nut drive from lead screw thread for thread cutting. Threads, 48 selections R.H. or L.H. – 4 to 224 per inch. Lead screw diameter and threads per inch – 1 1/8 – 8. Spindle bearings: (4) sealed and shielded precision ball bearings. Hardened and ground steel spindle. Hole through spindle – 1 3/8” Draw in Collet Capacity – 1 1/16”. Spindle nose diameter and threads per inch – 2 ¼ - 8. 1-Drive place – 7 ½” for 2 ¼” - 8 spindle Variable speed drive – Spindle speeds: Direct Drive – 250 to 1400 rpm; with Back Gears Engaged – 40 to 220 rpm. Spindle nose adapter to #3 Morse. Compound rest graduated 90 degree in both directions. Tool post opening for 1/2 “ x 1 1/8” tool holder. Width of bed across ways 10” Precision ground ways, Flame Hardened, two prismatic V-Ways and two flat ways. Tailstock set-over for taper turning 9/16” Use 2 H.P., 3 PHASE MOTOR, 1725 R.P.M. This unit will include a phase convertor to convert 220 single phase to 220 3 phase.
